Das heutige Teilstück gilt als mittelschwer. Allerdings wartet auf halber Strecke ein echter "Brocken" auf die Fahrer um David Gaudu: der Alpe San Pellegrino. Auf rund 14 Kilometern sind durchschnittlich 8,7 Prozent Steigung zu bewältigen, dazu gibt es eine Rampe mit 19 Prozent.
