Dorothy entdeckt ein altes Hochzeitsbild ihrer Mutter, das sie noch nie gesehen hat. Seltsamerweise ist der Bräutigam auf dem Foto nicht ihr Vater. Dorothy betreibt ein bisschen Ahnenforschung und bittet ihre Mutter um Unterstützung. Sophia zeigt ihrer Tochter ein paar Erinnerungsstücke, darunter ein Kästchen aus Holz. Als Dorothy einen Blick hineinwerfen will, klappt Sophia das Familienstück sofort wieder zu. Das stachelt Dorothys Neugier nur umso mehr an.
